Roman Villa Long Loop

Distance: 14 Miles
Durartion: 3-4 hours
Difficulty: 7/10
Terrain: Road

A scenic and hilly longer route taking in the National Trust Roman Villa and the beautiful villages of Chedworth and Withington.

The route takes you cross country via Fossebridge (lovely Pub) where you cross the busy A429 Fosseway and take a quiet country lane to the edge of the woods.  Then you turn south to Chedworth and (lets be honest) a few decent sized hills!  once over the top, you follow the White Way into Withington (and a super pub), before turning back along the Yanworth Valley to the Roman Villa.   A great little NT cafe awaits and some interesting archaeology if you choose to go in.  They the route winds its path along the valley and takes in Yanworth and Stowell Park Estate on the way.

A challenging day ride with some super hills  - all the roads are very quiet country lanes suitable for:
  • Hybrid & Road bikes
  • E-Bikes
  • (Trailers)
  • Tandem
